A five day training and assessment course for candidates
wishing to enter the oil industry who want to become OFTEC
registered as oil technicians. It covers the regulations and
standards that apply to oil fired pressure jet heating
installations and installation practice.
It covers the regulations and standards that apply to oil
fired tanks, boilers, and burners both the installations and
installation practice. Domestic light/commercial oil firing
system installation course, and assessment with energy
efficiency module. It also covers the regulations and
standards that apply to oil fired heating installations and
installation practice.

This course is designed for the inexperienced candidate
At the end of the course the successful candidate will be
awarded their OFT 50 and will go on to gain the other OFTEC
courses with the exception of vaporising cookers
OFT 101 (MODULES a,b,c,d,e,p.) Pressure Jet Boiler
Servicing
Domestic light/commercial oil firing system commissioning,
servicing and assessment of pressure jet burners training and
assessment
A two day training and assessment course for experienced
installers who want to become OFTEC registered as service
technicians of pressure jet appliances. It covers the
regulations and standards that apply to oil fired pressure jet
heating installations and installation practice. The OFTEC
registration is as a Domestic Light/commercial Oil Firing
System Servicing Technician of Pressure Jet Burners designed
for the experienced technician.

OFT 102 (MODULES a,b,c,d,e,v) Vaporisina Boiler
Servicing
Domestic light/commercial oil firing system commissioning,
servicing and assessment of vaporising burners training and
assessment.
A two day training and assessment course of experienced
installers who want to become OFTEC registered as service
technicians of vaporising appliances. It covers the
regulations and standards that apply to oil fired vaporising
heating installations and installation practice. The OFTEC
registration is as a Domestic Light/Commercial Oil Firing
System Servicing Technician of Vaporising Burners designed for
the experienced technician.
The Training Objectives
Safety requirements - Types of oil firing and cooking
equipment - oil storage
(less than 3500 litres), Fuel Feed Pipe Work - Flueing and
Ventilation Boiler
changeovers - Heating System Design including L1 Thermostatic
Controls -
Insulation - Advanced Energy Efficiency.
Certification
On successful completion of the assessment, a certificate of
competence is issued by the certification body. This then
enables the Technician to apply for OFTEC registration as a
serving technician of vaporising burners.
Where a combination of courses are taken at the same time
the use of modules means that the time taken is reduced i.e l

want to become OFTEC registered as specialists in tank
installation. It covers the regulations and standards that
apply to oil fired tanks, the installations and installation
practice. The OFTEC registration is as a Domestic
Light/Commercial Oil Firing Tank Installation Technician.

as specialists in oil delivery. It covers the regulations and
standards that apply to oil fired tanks, the installations and
installation practice. The OFTEC registration is as a Domestic
Light/Commercial Oil Firing Tank Delivery Technician.
