the various forms of domestic hot water systems that are used in
dwellings, small public buildings and small industrial and
commercial premises.
2, Have an
appreciation of the legal obligations relating to the safe
installation and use of un-vented hot water systems.
3, Recognise
the various types of un-vented hot water systems, understand their
working principals, understand the reasons for controls and the
dangers involved with incorrect installation.
4, Be able to
identify the component parts that ensure the safe operation of
un-vented water systems and to protect the system from excessive
temperatures and pressures.
5, Understand
the installation and commissioning requirements of un-vented hot
water supplies including water supply, hot water demand sitting
requirements and any other safety matters.
6, Understand
the installation, commissioning and servicing requirements of
un-vented hot water systems.
7, Be able to
identify the causes of common faults on un-vented hot water systems
and components and determine suitable corrective and preventative
measures.
8, Understand
the differences between vented and sealed heating systems and
recognise their installation requirements.
