Thank you for
your enquiry about our water By-Laws course for Scotland,
apart from the course list over, we are always striving to
improve our training portfolio, should you have other requests
please phone us for advice. Training can be carried out at our
training centres or on site with our mobile training units.
The water regulations course is a one day course covering the
theory the courses consists of:-
• Provide refresher training for the installer, designer or
specifier of water fittings to allow them to meet the
requirements of the Water Byelaws 2000.
Provide the necessary information in order to complete the
BPEC/WRAS Water Byelaws' assessment, to meet the requirements
of an Approved Contractor.
The Water Byelaws:
• Apply only in Scotland.
• Came into force on 4 April 2000.
• Enforcement is the responsibility of Scottish Water.
The new Water Regulations are made nationally by the
Department of the • Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA)
and apply to every installation supplied from a public main by
a water undertaker.
The Regulations are enforced by the water companies on behalf
of DEFRA.
To provide the necessary information in order to complete the
BPEC/WRAS Water Regulations Assessment and prove competence in
the Regulations to meet the requirements of an approved
contractor.
The Byelaws make provision for preventing: Waste.
• Misuse.
• Undue consumption.
• Contamination.
• Erroneous measurement of water supplied by the undertaker
The Standard of Training
We always provide the relevant books for the course as part of
the training and we try to make any course interesting and
enjoyable, as we feel that candidates learn more if they enjoy
the course. Refreshments are provided and the courses start at
9 00 am till 4 30 pin (unless otherwise stated). The standard
of training and the conduct of the training centres are under
Logic codes of practice all centres must meet the requirements
of this code, any complaints on breaches of these standards
must be made in the first instance to the training centre
manager and if no satisfaction can be found then a complaint
can be made to BPEC.
Certification of Assessments
The courses are carried at training/assessment centers or
approved mobile units and then a recommendation is issued to
BPEC certification who will issue a certificate of competence
which is valid for five years.
