Overview

Insulation only performs when it is designed, fitted and joined up properly. This practical course introduces the installation principles that protect thermal performance while managing moisture, ventilation, airtightness and the details around windows, doors, services and junctions.

You will explore the main insulation applications used in domestic work, how to prepare the substrate, avoid gaps and compression, maintain continuity and recognise details that can create cold bridging or condensation risk. The course also covers product information, safe handling, quality checks and the evidence needed for a compliant retrofit handover.

The training supports work within PAS 2035 and PAS 2030 projects. It should be paired with the relevant product, system, trade and scheme requirements for the insulation measure being installed.
